Climate & Habitat

The ocean is one of the key driving forces in regulating our climate and weather. It also is the foundation of critical ecosystem services needed to support life on Earth.

The elements that constitute our theme of Climate & Habitat cannot be downplayed. Blue carbon, ecosystem protection, plastic pollution, ocean acidification, marine noise; all these play a part in affecting the health of our planet, marine biodiversity and human populations.

Within this theme we look to explore the solutions that will play a part in preventing and mitigating the impacts of more extreme weather events, habitat degradation and loss, and climate change.
